A Highly Anticipated Mystery and Interactive Exhibit Opens at Descanso Gardens This Weekend – Pasadena Weekendr

You can admire the gardens until your eyes grow moss themselves. You can work hard in your garden forever, trying to make the same place look different every season.

Or you can seek inspiration in “Your (Un)natural Garden,” an innovative and immersive art experience from provocative artist Adam Schwerner, which opens Saturday, April 16 through January 8, 2023, at Descanso Gardens.

We told you about this exhibition in February, we’re pretty sure, but the time has come for you to see it for yourself.

We are told that the exhibition allows visitors to experience the art in the garden as they have never seen or felt it before. Schwerner’s work in the Sturt Haaga Gallery, Boddy House, and across the landscape “will intrigue the senses and demand participation,” according to our friends at Descanso.

“Your (Un)natural Garden” is an experience unique to Descanso before. Installations at the Sturt Haaga Gallery, Boddy House and throughout the landscape will intrigue visitors’ senses and invite participation. Archways, created with found materials, will lead to the art gallery and home. Once there, explore a host of surprising rooms – hundreds of bells ringing. to the feather boas hanging from the ceiling.

The fair will invite visitors to experience nine large-scale multimedia installations as they venture into the gardens and explore the Sturt Haaga Gallery and the Boddy House.

The installations are designed to intrigue visitors’ senses and invite participation. Giant archways, created with found materials, will lead to the art gallery and home.

This exhibition, produced in collaboration with Fair design, artistic mafiaand pink sparrow, includes nine botanical collections, a miniature railway, a house museum, a gallery of modern art, coffee and gift shop. The urban retreat also features a redwood forest, streams, lake, bird sanctuary, and the largest camellia garden in the United States. Scheduled events include morning yoga, weekend walks, children’s story time, gardening tutorials and annual festivals.
