The New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority Ernest N. Morial awarded a $ 7 million contract to a local company for the design of its meeting rooms and public spaces.
NANO Architecture has won the contract, the largest ever awarded by the Authority to an emerging small local company, according to a press release.
The project is part of the Convention Center’s $ 557 million capital improvement plan that began in 2018. It includes facilities upgrades, meeting space upgrades and other upgrades. A 7.5-acre pedestrian park was also completed as part of the plan.
The statement said NANO Architecture participated in the Convention Center’s Small and Emerging Business program, receiving mentorship by partnering with Populous, Inc. – the world’s largest public facility design firms, who prepared the company to win a contract on its own.
As a women-owned and state-certified underprivileged business enterprise, this project offers us the opportunity to continue to grow our business and, more importantly, to showcase the talent of our team of professionals ” , said Terri Hogan Dreyer, Managing Partner of NANO Architecture. “We look forward to helping the Convention Center usher in a new era, continuing the legacy of being a pillar of our hotel economy.”
