HOLDING the pee and letting it do it a few minutes before it erupts could be the new way to orgasm, says one Reddit user.
We’ve all been there. Perhaps you drank too much coffee or swallowed a quart of water after your morning workout.
Your bladder is full, but you’re stuck in a meeting / in public transport / in a traffic jam … whatever the scenario, the bottom line is that you feel like you have to pee and you have no other choice than to hold on.
Finally, you arrive at the toilet, you can let go! The feeling of relief is good. So good. A little too good. Enter the “peegasm” trend.

WHAT IS PEEGASM?
A “peegasm” is the intense feeling of relief you get after holding your pee for as long as possible and then finally using the bathroom. A Reddit thread devoted to the phenomenon begins with a description:
“So my girlfriend recently told me that if she had to hold back her pee for a while, when she goes to pee, she often has orgasms that she feels all the way down her spine to her head. If she does ‘inverted kegels’ while peeing, they are even more likely to occur.
“She said those orgasms left her dizzy and off-balance at times, and were quite different from her clit or vaginal orgasms,” writes the Redditor.
Others attest to having had similar experiences. “I call them pissing chills (grinding my teeth) because they’re not quite orgasmic in my opinion but quite close,” comments another person.
DOCTORS WARN OF IRREPARABLE ORGAN DAMAGE
Dr Charlotte Elder is a gynecologist and spokesperson for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She says that even though she finally goes to the bathroom after hanging on for a while, she does feel good (“some people describe an orgasm as a relief,” she notes) the tendency to peegasm could. cause bladder damage.
“Bladders should be treated with respect. It’s important to go when you need to, not when you’re cracking up, ”she says.
It turns out that if you delay going to the bathroom, you can stretch your bladder. It’s a prospect that shouldn’t be taken lightly – Dr. Elder warns that bladder damage can take years to recover. In some cases, the damage is irreparable.
By the way, Dr. Elder notes that it’s also important not to do “just in case”. “If you pee when you don’t need to go, you can reduce your bladder’s ability to hold urine,” she says.
Another unintended consequence of “peegasm” could be obtaining a urinary tract infection (UTI) because holding it too long can allow harmful bacteria to multiply in the urinary tract. Anyone who has suffered from an attack of cystitis will know that there is nothing sexy about it.
WHY IT’S SO GOOD
But, while intentionally hanging on isn’t a good idea, there’s no denying that there are links between the urge to pee and sexual pleasure. An example is the number of women declaring sleep orgasms this happened when they had a full bladder.
Dr Elder said she was not surprised by this. “A full bladder while you sleep will stimulate the nerves in your pelvic floor a bit, making you more likely to have a sexy dream that can trigger an orgasm while you sleep,” she says.
That said, there is a big difference between waking up with a full bladder and deliberately hanging on for too long. Dr. Elder says that in his opinion, the “peegasme” is just not worth risking your bladder health to achieve.
“There are more convenient and enjoyable ways to have an orgasm,” she says. “My advice is to try something a little more old-fashioned.”
