STATEN ISLAND, NY – The St. George’s Theater to host its fifth annual “Laughs on the Links” golf, tennis and pÃ©tanque outing on Monday, October 4, a fundraiser to be held at the Richmond County Country Club to benefit the St. George Theater Restoration Inc, the non-profit association that operates the historic site.
The main sponsor of the release is the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, as well as reputable sponsors ShopRite, Empire State Bank and Staten Island Advance.
The Vincent Gruppuso Foundation, Empire State Bank’s Philip Guarnieri and Susan Arann, American & International Designs, will be honored at the dinner following the release.

VINCENT GRUPPUSO FOUNDATION
The Vincent Gruppuso Foundation, “Puddin ‘Kids 1st”, was established by the family of Vincent (Vinny) Gruppuso, who wanted to honor Gruppuso, who in the 1960s was a bread delivery boy for the Arnold Bread Company. In one of his delivery points, Cozy Shack Delicatessen in Brooklyn, he discovered Cozy Shack Pudding. He started selling platters of puddings to his customers on his route. In 1967, Gruppuso bought the pudding recipes from Cozy Shack, changed the name from Cozy to Kozy, and opened a small factory in Queens. The company grew rapidly and became a major company with over 400 employees in three different factories.
Vincent Gruppuso passed away in 2007. The family created the Foundation in his honor. it was initiated by the current President of the Foundation, son-in-law Michael Caridi, and Gruppuso’s three daughters, Joanne Caridi, Diana Boland and Lisa Salvo, and her husband Michael. The Foundation has been instrumental in improving the health care and education of Staten Island children and their families, particularly at Staten Island Teaching Hospital, where there are three sites. Staten Island University Hospital has three sites bearing the Gruppuso name.

SUSAN ARANN, AMERICAN AND INTERNATIONAL DRAWINGS:
Arann is an interior designer and space planner from New York City who specializes in luxury residential, medical, commercial and hotel design. She is the Design Director and Senior Designer of American & International Designs, Inc. (A&I Design), an interior design firm in New York known for modern design aesthetics with nods to classics and offers design services ranging from new construction of houses, offices to large commercial and hotel projects.
She holds professional licenses and is a Certified Interior Designer in New York and Florida and past President of the American Society of Interior Designers and former Treasurer and Board Member of Interior Design Legislation for New York. She has won numerous awards for excellence in interior design and space planning, in addition to being nominated for the Working Woman Entrepreneurial Excellence.
A&I Design has been sought out for its design expertise in many projects including Staten Island University Hospital, Richmond County Savings Bank, Richmond County Country Club, Ritz Carlton Residences, Hilton Properties and New York’s historic Van Cortlandt Golf Club as well as a variety of restaurants, clubs and lobbies.
The company has also worked on several projects at the St. George Theater, including the Great Hall washrooms and the new lower level lounge, which will be unveiled in the fall.
Arann has been named one of eight âYouth Business Ambassadorsâ by the New York Department of Small Business Services.
Susan’s wife, Dr. Larry Arann is a clinical psychologist in private practice who has been extremely active in the Staten Island community for decades.
